About Benoy Berry
As the President and Chief Executive Officer of Contec Global Group, Benoy Berry has led the corporation to international success since founding it in 1984. Mr. Berry oversees operations of the e-governance and smart technologies company that maintains headquarters in London, taking his expertise to developing countries. With an interest in providing solutions in the fields of energy (including alternative energies), hospitality, secure technologies, and infrastructure, Benoy Berry has seen expansion of his company into Asia, Africa, Europe, America, and the Middle East. Through Mr. Berry’s leadership and vision, Contec Global’s teams of multi-disciplinary professionals execute government and sovereign turnkey projects.
Armed with an international education in economics and finance, as well as a Ph.D. in Communication and Arts, Benoy Berry focuses his business strategies on out-of-the-box conceptualization and a culture of innovation. Positioning Contec Global as a trusted partner, he has been successful in obtaining contract awards to set up e-governance infrastructures in several nations. With a strong presence in Africa, Mr. Berry and his experienced teams have projects in Nigeria, Uganda, and Sierra Leone, among other nations. In 1999, the company instituted a project in Nigeria to provide new and secure documents and cards for identification of foreign residents. Today, Contec Global operates eight card production centers and two regional head offices with a central database connecting all zonal offices.
A supporter of youth educational programs, Benoy Berry committed Contec Global’s financial support to a 10-year program recognizing two science students a year in north and south Nigeria. Named the Nigerian Association of Science Journalists (NASJ) Award, the first announcement of the award occurred in 2011, and the program will continue through 2020. Contec Global furnishes financial support to the program in an effort to redirect Nigerian students to the study of science and technologies. Benoy Berry also serves as Honorary Consul General from India for the African Republic of Burundi.
