Benoy Berry is the founder and chief executive officer of Contec Global, a technology and secured systems organization operating throughout the world. In recognition of his company’s contributions in the areas of e-governance and biometrics in Nigeria and Africa, Benoy Berry earned the 2011 Outstanding Achievement in Technology Award from the Nigeria Association of Science Journalists (NASJ).
Established in 2007, the NASJ is a division of the World Federation of Science Journalists. The organization’s membership comprises reporters in the fields of science and technology, health, and the environment. These reporter-members are committed to fostering productive interactions between the media and the Nigerian scientific community. The NASJ strives to strengthen this community through meetings between journalists and the Nigerian public, as well as through the organization of advocacy workshops, seminars, and science round table meetings.
The organization, which currently has 32 members, is led by a president and general secretary, both of whom are elected annually by a general assembly.
